Eoin Morgan – Unique & Beyond Extraordinary

Eoin Morgan stepped out in Sydney last night for the totally new look Sydney Thunder in their first match for Big Bash League IV.

Eoin had just completed the one day series for England against Sri Lanka. He gets on a plane to Australia and during the flight is named the new England captain for the 2015 World Cup as Alistair Cook is dropped from the entire squad.

Somehow he is able to walk to the middle after Mike Hussey is dismissed for 96 from 60 balls, to partner Jacques Kallis and has the clarity of mind to execute this absolutely unique gem.

A boundary from fundamentally a non shot but a purity of awareness and position.

Rarely is Adam Gilchrist speechless.

“Overdue” is how Damien Fleming describes the shot.

This is up there with the most incredible shots of all time, amazingly not requiring any power, pick up or back swing. Enjoy.
